Retro and Designer Sneakers

Shoe game, the fashion trend that’s currently taking the world by storm ! Right now it’s all about Sneakers. So much so, that even top designer brands like Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton are now making athletic sneakers and running shoes ! Though the vast majority of Sneaker trends are being started by Nike and Jordan, other brands like New Balance and even Balenciaga have joined the game. So to help you decide which one is right for you, we made this list of a few different options. Retro Sport Sneakers

Sport Sneakers are often worn with shorts or pants. They’re so versatile and they come in so many colors that you can wear them with almost anything. And the best part about Retro Sneakers is that they come in every price range. There are shoes on this list for as little as $60 USD and some as high as $7,400 USD. Pro Tip: The timeless look of a Retro Sneaker, like a Jordan 1 or a Nike Dunk, looks best with light blue jeans and a vintage tee !

Nike Air Force 1

Does this shoe really need an introduction ? Possibly the most recognizable shoe on the planet is the Nike Air Force 1. Countless songs, movies, and celebrities wear and reference these shoes. The solid white color-way is just so versatile that it’s virtually impossible for this shoe to not match an outfit. It has even been known to be worn with suits on occasion. It’s sporty, retro, and widely accepted by the shoe community so you can’t go wrong with a pair of Nike AF1’s.

Dior Jordan 1

Perhaps our favorite Air Jordan ever made is the Dior 1. The aesthetic of this shoe just goes way too hard ! This beautiful piece of foot-art can be had for $7,400 USD. Yes that’s right, the price of a car. Although we love this dream sneaker, we really are referring to all Air Jordan 1’s for the sake of this list. Air Jordan 1’s are the most popular and in our opinion the best looking J’s ever made. Definitely check out other color-ways like the Chicago’s, Bred’s, and University Blue’s. They come in virtually every color you could possibly think of !

Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star

Another timeless classic that needs no introduction is the Chuck Taylor All-Star. Whether it be the classic black and white color way or any of the newer brighter colors, they’re all still in style. Although we do have to admit, they might be coming toward the end of their run. They’ve been in style for so long that we are starting to see less and less of them nowadays. They’re still loved by so many but unfortunately they are so uncomfortable that it’s becoming increasingly hard to choose these shoes over some of the other shoes on this list. But if you’re into that retro skater vibe and don’t mind the thin sole of the converse, then these shoes might just be for you.

Nike Dunk Low UNC

The Nike Dunk Low UNC sports a light blue and white color combo. This color has been a huge hit in the sneaker community ! Why is University Blue so expensive ? This is because it’s the color of the college that Michael Jordan Attended, University of North Carolina. Few people actually know this fact. So now, any Nike shoe that uses “University Blue” or “UNC” in the title is automatically going to resell for upwards of $300.

Reebok Club C 85 Vintage

This is another sneaker that caters to a lower price point. Click below to check the current price. But even though it’s on the more affordable end of the sneaker spectrum, It’s still super popular ! And again because it’s a white shoe, it goes with everything ! You simply can’t cultivate an outfit that these will look bad with. If you’re looking for an essential white sneaker to just throw on, these are a great option. PLUS these have one huge advantage over the Nike Air Force , and ghat is that AF1’s look worse and worse the more creased they get. But Reebok Club C’s actually look better and better with wear ! It somehow ads to the vintage aesthetic of the shoe. So if you don’t necessarily feel like walking like a penguin to protect your toe boxes, then these are a better option for you.

New Balance 550

The New Balance 550 has taken the vintage clothing community by storm lately. It comes in about 8 different colors and is super comfortable. If you’re someone who likes to rock old band tees or vintage shirts of any kind, then these are kind of a must. Go to your local vintage clothes meet and you’ll see exactly what we’re talking about. We especially like the dad vibes that the 550 gives off. Super retro and a less popular but still verified staple in the sneaker game is the New balance 550.

These shoes are going to be worn by your sneaker heads with a little extra cash flow. The big ballers who won’t let a number shy them away from making a statement. The average price of the sneakers on this list is $1,000 USD. In our opinion these are the best of the best when it comes to Shoe Game. These shoes just communicate wealth, confidence, and elegant style.

Lanvin Curb Sneakers

Lanvin is a designer clothing brand that is really taking off ! Their sneakers are a play on both luxury designer style, and vintage skateboarding shoes like DC. You can see the subtle skateboard shoe elements like the fat tongue, big laces, and rubber on top of the toe. The Lanvin Sneaker comes in multiple colors like white and grey. But in our opinion, the more colorful the better for this particular shoe ! Lanvin Curb Sneakers sell for $970 USD.

Dior B23 High-top Sneaker

An obvious play on the look of a Converse Chuck Taylor, the Christian Dior B23 is a familiar look. It features an off-white style exterior with Dior print all around. Due to this print, it is one of the flashier shoes on this but because of the colors it is also kind of subtle. And with the name all around, it’s no question what kind of shoes these are.

Louis Vuitton Trainer Sneaker

Louis Vuitton has entered the chat. What an absolute statement of a shoe. They come in a few different color ways and as you can see, they can be worn with almost anything. A statement of Elegance and luxury is the Balenciaga Speed 2.0. For a long time this was considered to be the most wanted Designer shoe in the world ! Even GQ wrote an entire article about it. We really love the humble look of this shoe and the deep black finish. And due to its running shoe esque design, it’s one of the most comfortable shoes on this list. If you aren’t particularly flashy and looking for a designer shoe that also can be worn on a daily basis, then this shoe will definitely catch your interest.

Alexander McQueen Oversized Sneaker

Alexander McQueen has been stealing the show and rocking the competition with their Oversized Sneaker. Similar to the Balenciaga Speed 2.0, it is very humble and subtle. If someone walked past you in these they may not even notice. But upon a second look they might recognize the powerful designer name on the back that is Alexander McQueen. A hugely recognized name in the fashion industry now making Sneakers?? Hell yeah they are ! The only downside we can think of is that these shoes are a bit heavy if you’re sensitive to that kind of thing. But that’s certainly not a reason to not buy them.

Christian Louboutin Junior Spikes

Another bold take on the Sneaker style is the Louboutin Junior Spike. No Junior Spike doesn’t mean it is for kids. This shoe certainly has a red carpet feel to it and is often seen with dressier clothes likes suits and such. They feature metal spikes on the toe box but a familiar sneaker silhouette all around. They are leather and come in multiple color ways including all black, all red, and all white. These shoes are truly eye catching but in the best way. Sometimes you need to stand out in a crowd and these shoes are a very prominent way of doing that.
